Forza Horizon 6 on PC: Japan, 550+ Cars and How to Download It
If you have spent any time with open-world racing games, you already know that the Forza Horizon series is the one everyone else is chasing. Forza Horizon 6 arrived on PC on May 19, 2026, and it does something the series had never done before: it takes the whole festival to Japan. Here is what the game is, what your PC needs to run it, and where to get it safely.
A Festival in Japan
Playground Games has swapped the sunny vineyards and deserts of earlier entries for Japan, and it is the biggest map the series has ever had. Think busy city streets, winding mountain roads and quiet countryside, all in one world you can simply drive around in. It is a setting that suits cars perfectly, from tight mountain climbs to long, flowing highways. You can play the campaign on your own or team up with friends in co-op, which is still the best way to turn a lazy evening into a three-hour convoy.
More Than 550 Cars
The game launched with over 550 cars, so there is something for almost every taste. Tuner favourites, European supercars, rugged off-roaders and plenty of oddballs are all in the mix. Car culture sits at the heart of the whole experience, and Japan is a natural backdrop for it. If you enjoy tuning, painting and collecting, you can easily lose a weekend in the garage before you finish your first race.
How It Runs on PC
On PC, the game is Steam Deck Verified, which says a lot about how well it has been optimised, and it is tuned for handhelds like the ROG Ally too. Do not let that fool you into thinking it is a small game, though. The official figure for the PC install is around 160 GB, and an SSD is required. Make sure you have the space before you press download, or you will be staring at an error message instead of a start line. Also check the official system requirements on the store page for your exact processor and graphics card, because they change between low, medium and high settings.
A Huge Launch
Players showed up in big numbers. Steam alone saw more than 300,000 people playing at the same time at the peak, which is far beyond what earlier Forza Horizon games managed on the platform. Reviews from players on Steam have been mostly positive as well, so the hype seems to have been earned.
Where to Download Forza Horizon 6
The only safe place to get the game is from the official stores. You can buy it on Steam, or get it through the Xbox app and the Microsoft Store. If you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, the Standard Edition is included at no extra cost. The Steam price was listed at $69.99 when we last checked, but prices and editions change, so always look at the store page before you buy. A PlayStation 5 version is planned for later in 2026.
Download on Steam (Official) Official Forza Website
Skip the “free download” sites and cracked copies. They are the easiest way to end up with malware on your computer, and they will never get proper updates.
Final Thoughts
Forza Horizon 6 is big, confident and easy to enjoy, whether you want a relaxed drive or a serious online race. If you have the hardware and the disk space, it is well worth the install. See you on the road.
